It's that time of year...

I am going to purchase Soren's Halloween costume soon (because if I wait too much longer they'll all be sold out). The following are the costumes in the running. Vote for your favorite! This way I don't have to email everyone and as what they think would be the cutest (because I don't want to stick him in what *I* think is cute if it isn't funny to the rest of the world). Preschool update

Soren napped for over an hour at school today, which is almost unbelievable to me. He also ate all his food again. He has been in an extremely good mood since he got home...I guess being entertained nonstop by 9 other people (7 kids, 2 teachers) agrees with him. I *know* it agrees with me. When he first saw me, he held out his arms to be picked up...by Miss Brooke! And then he kissed her on the cheek, spontaneously! He clearly likes his new peeps.

Here is his first art project. I am pretty sure it was better than all the other kids' sheep. JK. Not really.

BMOC

Soren started preschool yesterday—we went for an hour, more or less during recess. Today we went for art, music, and lunch; Soren had sketti, garlic bread, and Italian salad in case you were wondering.

There are a couple of really cute kids in the one-year-old room but they are moving into the next age group next week, so I think Soren might be the cutest in his grade for a while.

Here are some pictures of his acclimation period yesterday. Tomorrow I am going to drop him off and leave him for a few hours! He did better today than yesterday, so hopefully he'll only scream his head off for like 10 or 15 minutes tomorrow. I am sure my presence is hindering him from really doing his thing, though.

Also, it's a really good thing we didn't name Soren something traditional like Michael because he would not have made a good addition to his group. The names of his classmates are Liam, Emerson, Grayson, Gael, Valeria, Jackson, Paolo, and Beckett. CUTE!

A really big bug showed up, which was a super hit with all the boys. Later some of them tried to beat it with a stick! SO bad. Soren was NOT part of that.

Water break. This teacher I am pretty sure deserves a raise. I guess Tommy and I should start saving up for her Christmas bonus right away.

Soren got to spend a couple of days this week with his BFF Julian. They had a pool party today!

I finally got the disposable water-proof camera developed with pictures from Soren's birthday (his first visit to the pool) and June 9th, our follow-up visit after the pool got a little warmer. The trip on May 26th was pretty chilly, and Soren was displeased with the water temp and subsequent teeth chattering. The hatless photos are from that day; the hatted and UV-blocking shirted photos are from June 9th.

Sorry to post so many photos; I have a hard time editing because I love him so much that I want everyone to see every funny face he makes and all the crazy things he does. I mean, the three people who look at this stuff (you know who you are!)...




On my first birthday proper! It was way too cold for a baby that likes super hot baths.

Soren liked the dentist!

The dentist's office was AWESOME! They have the coolest waiting room, with a kitchen, trucks, a picnic tables, and tons of blocks. Soren got mad when we had to go in the back, because he apparently wanted to play in the waiting room all day.

But once we went in the back, it was just as cool. The nurses were super nice, and room was filled with balloons (one of which, Soren got to take home, with a new toothbrush tied to the end). When the dentist came in, Soren went over and hugged her leg, which was fairly weird. I guess he liked the looks of her in her scrubs.

They do baby exams in this fancy lap hold, which worked amazingly well. They got all his teeth super clean, and even got the mirror in there to check everything out. We spotted a new molar coming out of the gum, too! That must explain Soren's recently difficulty sleeping...

Hmmm....

Soren liked the aquarium!

Tommy took the day off Thursday so we could take Soren to the aquarium (it's difficult coming up with activities EVERY SINGLE DAY of the summer). It was a little weird because Soren missed his morning nap (because he wouldn't sleep in the car on the way to Atlanta) and we weren't sure how he'd hold up. He didn't get cranky at all! He seemed to like the alligator, who liked Soren right back (but as a snack!). His favorite part was all the other kids, though. We are glad Soren is going to start school in a few months, because all he wants is to talk to other kids!

He passed out as soon as we got in the car to go home, which was around 12:30. We finished the aquarium AND had lunch in two hours flat. It took longer than that to get to and from Atlanta!

Birthday party!

Soren had a fabaluss time at his party yesterday. He basically got carried around and fed/watered by lots of new people, which he thought was fanTAStic. And he *loves* all the boxes that his new toys came in!

Soren's weekend escape
