Visited by the Man

From Ms. Brittany:

Today we had a visit from the Mountain Brook Fire Department.  The firemen brought us Ms. F.  The children were able to learn about what to do if there is a fire and got to look inside the fire truck.  The children were very excited to learn about what the firemen do.  

Caterpillars

From Ms. Pat:

Today the children worked on answering these questions: Where do caterpillars come from? and How long does it take for a butterfly to come out of a cocoon?

Mrs. Barr (headmistress) helped with the answers by reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and by helping us become caterpillars, cocoons, and butterflies. The attached photo is of us as cocoons.

Bad Tired Peanut

I have attached a picture of Soren sleeping last Friday!  I had to save proof that when he is wiped out he will take a rest time.

Random 4K Stuff

From Ms. Pat:

Just wanted you to see one of the things the children did today. This is a picture of Mat Man. First we read the book, Mat Man on the Go and talked about the places we like to go. Then we listened to Mat Man's song which says, Mat Man has 1 head so that he can think and continues to name different parts of Mat Man and what they do. Finally, each student helped build the Mat Man you see in the picture. When building Mat Man we are talking about big lines, little lines, big curves and little curves. These lines and curves are used to make letters and students have already made big lines with dough to make the letter M. 

PS - Mat Man sounds boring.

Highlands

Soren started his new school in Birmingham today. He is particularly stoked about the playground! His teachers are Ms. Pat and Ms. Brittany.

Soren likes Ms. Brittany a LOT! :)

Pool party!

We all went to a pool party at Ingrid's house today, with some other Waseca friends. Ingrid and Soren had a great time spending out with each other! I think they make a very handsome couple.

We also found out Ingrid is going to be a big sister! Now Soren also wants a little sister, specifically Ingrid. 

Goodbye year, goodbye Waseca

Soren's class had their photo taken in April. Someone goobered up Soren's collar, I see.

Hoppy Easter

Soren and I had fun decorating glitter eggs with glue dots this year. Then he and his dad had fun throwing boiled eggs at the back fence.

We also made these cute little packets of M&Ms for his friends at school. Cute! THanks, Pinterest, for all these fun ideas.

Valentine cuties

Soren and his friends exchanged Valentine's Day notes this year--hand made! They are super cute!

What the Smurf?

Shots! He didn't cry, although I could tell the second one hurt. Super brave! Of course, when we got to school he told me he couldn't walk because of his shots and needed me to carry him, then he hunched over and crept into his class like a decrepit.

While we were in the exam room waiting on the nurse to return he asked me, "when is the smurf coming back in with my shots?"
